Back Extension Exercise
This is a great exercise to do if you are having lower back pain or sciatic nerve pain.
You will be doing 10 extensions at a time. The frequency that you will be doing this exercise will be decided by your chiropractor or physical therapist.
Lay flat on the ground. Face down. Use your arms to press your upper body up to the ceiling. You can either get on your elbows or use your hands. Press up and hold in extension for 1 second. Then, bring your chest back down to the floor. Keep your hips on the ground and use your arms to lift you (not your back).
IF THIS EXERCISE HURTS, DON’T DO IT.
Slight discomfort is normal and ok, but pain is not.
